Bigfork Montana is home to Eagle Bend Golf Club, a 27-hole championship course. As Montana’s only golf course rated #1 by Golf Digest, Eagle Bend has held this honor for six consecutive years. Also, The golf course is consistently ranks in the top 50 golf courses located in the United States. William Hull designed and built the original 18 holes. Then, in the mid-nineties, “Nicklaus Design” designed and built the “Nicklaus Nine”, hence standards worthy of the Nicklaus reputation. Eagle Bend is a semi-private Golf Club, offering all of the facilities you would expect. Therefore include sculpted fairways, excellent greens, practice facility and a full service restaurant and lounge.
Known as the “Village by the Bay”, Bigfork resides in a sheltered bay on Flathead Lake, where the Swan River meets Flathead Lake. In addition, Bigfork is know for its’ major arts community in Northwest Montana. Bigfork’s population is growing at about 24% with urban refugees. Population swells with visitors in the summer who come to enjoy it’s art galleries, live theater, sidewalk cafes, and restaurants. There are no shopping malls and few franchise businesses. Bigfork is built on a western art theme, including many excellent sculpture pieces, supported by two bronze foundries in the region. Local artwork can be found at non‐traditional venues through the village, like the Bigfork Festival of Arts the first weekend in August. The Bigfork Summer Playhouse; a fine theater operating Monday – Saturday is well worth the visit to Bigfork during summer seasons.
Bigfork also hosts a public fishing access point. The Bigfork Fishing Access is a 1 acre fishing access site open year round, with a boat launch during the summer season.
